He cares nothing for wealth, and will give away any money he ever receives. He is softhearted and refuses to lie about anything. He is slow to anger but quick to protect the weak. He cares nothing for politics or the courts. And would rather be meditating in the temple or practicing his iajutsu techniques than hobnobbing with the courtiers.
History: Kadokawa felt called to the temple at a young age. Despite his family's mocking and distaste for his habits, he forsake his family's wealth and prosperity to live like a pauper. He had no talent as a shungenja, the spirits seemed ignorant of his pleas for help, and was booted from the Ashanina school just before his 10th birthday. He cared too much for the peasents or eta and too little for wealth to attend the Doji Courtier school, besides his stubborn belief in Shintao that made him opposed to lying for any reason. "A Lie will feed your mouth; but the truth, while it may starve you, will feed your family."
While the School of Oragami intrigued him, he found that basing his life of such things was futile. "Paper will crumble and burn; will my soul not do the same?" Through much meditation he was left with only one choice. He would attend the Kakita Bushi School. Kadokawa found the school's focus on iaijutsu quite relaxing and became very talented. Being left handed to begin with, his teachers sought to teach him to use his right hand like the rest of their students. This only added to his ability with his blade.
Kadokawa was 19 when he finally passed his gempukku in the Kakita school. He was easily the oldest in his class by almost 3 years. While his father was embarresed of this fact, Kadokawa couldn't have been prouder of himself. He had found his path.
